Here at Health & Herbs we pride ourselves on providing New Zealanders with premium quality products that deliver effective herbal and nutritional supplements for ultimate health and wellbeing.

Our promise to deliver only the finest, most efficacious products means our products may sometimes cost a little more than others that look the same, but quality costs and there are so many variables that can affect the bioavailability and efficacy of a product; variables that are usually not made apparent by the information on the label.

One of the ways we ensure our products are of the finest quality and efficacy is to work with manufacturing partners that excel in doing just that – quality, purity, gold standard manufacturing procedures, testing, research and quality assurance guarantees.

Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) is well recognised and an international gold standard for manufacturing practice, but this alone does not guarantee premium quality and efficacious products. GMP sets standards for material and product handling, storage, premises, machinery cleaning, packaging, personnel, etc. GMP does not set standards for the quality, origin, content or authenticity of the raw materials used, nor the functionality and bioavailability of the formulations produced, etc. That takes more than GMP. That requires company dedication and ethics. It requires a company to be more concerned with the end result and health benefits of thier products than they are about the purely commercial and profit making side of selling products.

That’s the second way we ensure the quality and efficacy of our products. Our international manufacturing partners are chosen very carefully and our local manufactures work to very specific formulation and ingredient guidelines.

Some people ask if we source products from China. Until recently we did not source finished products from China, but there is likely not a natural product manufacturer in the world that can claim that they have never and will never use any materials sourced from China. And rightly so, whilst some unscrupulous companies in China have sullied the country's reputation, there is no denying that China also has some of the world’s finest manufacturing companies and strictest quality control standards. Our first Chinese manufacturing partner is a herbal specialist. Whilst the manufacturing plant is located in the hub of China’s “herbal district”, the company is a German Phytopharmaceutical-Chinese joint venture company. It is operated to comply not only with Australian TGA and American FDA standards, but most importantly its products and practices comply with the incredibly strict German and European phytoharmaceutical standards and regulations (in Germany and much of Europe, herbs are still used by doctors as primary medicines, therefore herbal products are regulated under very strict protocols). We are delighted to be working with a company with such incredibly high standards, no matter where in the world they are located.

So, yes, sometimes our products cost a little more, but we are very proud of the reasons why – quality, purity, testing, research and efficacy – these are the standards you get when you by brands owned or sponsored by Health & Herbs International – a 100% New Zealand owned company, 100% committed to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders – naturally.
