At INIKA, we are constantly asked, “How do you create such bright and vibrant colours using 100% natural ingredients?” The answer is simple. We are stubborn. When it comes to creating a new product for the INIKA line, we approach product development with big dreams and high standards. We will not stop until we get the colours AND ingredients that we love.

INIKA’s eyeshadows are a prime example, using only the purest pigments mainly in the form of iron oxides. Iron oxides and ochres are naturally occurring pigments that have been used as colorants since prehistoric times. The way that you derive colour from such substances is like when you see a crystal refracting light.

Pigments appear the colour that they are because they selectively reflect and absorb certain wavelengths of visible light. Light is reflected into iron oxides for example and it captures the colour that is refracted, this creates a pigment and INIKA then blends the pigments together, comparable to making natural paint. E.g. Ultramarine- reflects blue light but doesn’t reflect red or green.

INIKA does not compromise on their performance giving customers the purest pigments and amazing results from their products. Unlike other cosmetic brands, talc and other cheap fillers are avoided as these are not only bad for your health but they dilute these beautiful pigments reducing intensity of colours when applied.
