Food Intolerances: fad or fiction?

It seems that the latest trend is to have an ‘intolerance’. Gluten-free bakeries are popping up in all the well-to-do parts of town, offering treats made from gluten free, dairy free, egg free, vegan ingredients. Is this a new phenomenon or a figment of the trendy set’s imagination?

The answer to this is ‘neither’. More likely is that it is only in recent times that we have had adequate testing methods to diagnose these intolerances, therefore previous gluten and dairy intolerances may not have been correctly diagnosed.

It is also likely that the processing of our foods has been so drastically altered in the last 50 years that we are now eating cereal grains and milk products that are highly processed and laced with preservatives, antibiotics, sprays and all manner of other chemicals. These extra ingredients and alteration of the original foods to their processed form has not only removed much of the nutrition, but has supplied us with anti-nutrients that may eventually effect the digestive tract.

So, it may not be so appropriate to scoff at those who take the gluten-free café options, as gluten and dairy intolerance seems to be here to stay.

To ease the suffering of those experiencing intolerances or who have coeliac disease (where gluten causes permanent damage to the digestive tract) Radiance® has a range of products that supply the much needed enzymes to digest these foods.

Radiance® Digest Dairy is a unique enzyme digestive formula which targets dairy sugar, dairy protein and dairy fat, all of which may contribute to dairy or lactose intolerance. So, if you know that you are prone to some of the symptoms of dairy intolerance such as bloating, cramping, gas and diarrhoea, keep Radiance® Digest Dairy within hands reach. Useful for those times when you are eating out or at friends and not in full control of your diet and do not want to suffer the consequences of some dairy sneaking onto your plate.

Radiance® Digest Gluten is a patented active enzyme blend to help break apart those difficult to digest gluten proteins called gliadins. Signs of gluten digesting issues appear in many ways other than the expected digestive complaints such as bloating, diarrhoea, constipation or reflux. It is equally possible that the skin and brain will be affected causing eczema, dermatitis or itchy skin, maybe even irritability, tiredness, headaches, poor concentration and behaviour disorders.

Wouldn’t it be nice to avoid some of that! Simply take one capsule of Radiance® Digest Gluten with each meal containing gluten grains and keep that smile on your face for the remainder of the day!

Manage your intolerances wisely by keeping yourself prepared for all culinary moments. Radiance® makes this easy with Radiance® Digest Dairy and Radiance® Digest Gluten.
