Did You Know…

. . .A diet rich in fibre can reduce the risk of developing bowel cancer by as much as 40% and it can help reduce bowel incontinence in older adults.

This data came from studies back in 2001. The EPIC (European Prospective Investigation of Cancer and Nutrition) study recruited 400,000 people across nine European countries and included data on the effects of dietary fibre on cancer. The findings are no less pertinent today and put fibre firmly back on the menu as an important part of a healthy diet. But is the average diet providing enough fibre? Probably not! If you’re constipated, suffer mild bowel incontinence, bloated, in need of a gentle bowel cleanse or everyday assistance with bowel health, then drink more water and look for a supplement with a balanced blend of soluble and insoluble fibres to help keep you clean and healthy on the inside.
